art11: I enjoy painting images of the south of France. I live in the small village of Cordes sur Ciel in the summer and in the US in the winter. My paintings are mostly impressionist in style and explore a large variety of subjects that are common to the south of France. Cordes is the north point of the Golden Triangle of the Gaillac wine region. The paintings range through different aspects of impressionism, some more pointillistic and others tending toward realistic. As the “pixels” become smaller, the result is higher realism; as they become larger, either as dots in pointillism or in brush strokes, the result is more toward the impressionism. The paintings are simply meant to capture the natural beauty of the countryside of the area. They are painted on the top-quality Belgian linen canvas using Sennelier and Lefranc & Bourgeois fine acrylic paints.
